As much as I love Tallinn, sometimes I just have to step out of the city. Come on, I grew in Oregon, where in 20 minutes in pretty much any direction you can be in the forest somewhere.
Yesterday we got to venture to Lahemaa National Park which is a short 40 minute drive away and has hours of adventure to offer.
Our ‘on trail’ adventure soon became an ‘off trail’ one. Getting lost in the woods has never been so much fun.
The forest has tall trees and a soft bed of moss covering the forest floor. Each step makes you sink down 3 to 4 inches. The tall tree tops make you feel closed off from the outside world, until you stumble onto the beach where the Baltic sea meets the forests’ edge.
It was quite a day, and a much needed breath of fresh air!
